How we're built

Distributed by design.

Cardinal Alpha has never had a single headquarters. Our research, engineering, and trading talent sits across six global hubs, spanning multiple continents and time zones. The best person for a given problem rarely lives in the same city as the last one we worked with.

What holds a distributed team together isn't proximity, it's infrastructure: one research platform, one execution stack, one risk framework, used identically whether you're two time zones away or twelve. A signal built in one hub trades exactly the same way a signal built in another does.

We stay senior and hands-on rather than large and layered. Everyone we work with, wherever they are, owns a problem end to end, from the idea, to the code, to the position.

How we work across time zones

Overlap where it matters. Async everywhere else.

ASYNC-FIRST

Written down, not talked over

Decisions live in documents and code, not in meetings that half the desk had to wake up early for. If it mattered, it's written down somewhere everyone can find it.

ONE STACK

Same platform, any time zone

Research, execution, and risk run on identical infrastructure everywhere we operate: no regional forks, no "local version" of a signal.

CORE HOURS

A window that actually overlaps

Every pair of desks shares a real-time window, even if it's early for one side and late for the other. Fast decisions still happen live.

LOCAL DEPTH

Present where the market lives

Market structure looks different from one hub to the next. We'd rather work with the person who trades there than fly one in.
